Detentions

Detention

They're Hard To Avoid And Hard To Live Through... All About Detentions.

Detentions will come and go. Sometimes you deserve them and other times your just at the wrong place at the wrong time. So, you might get a few throughout your life time, but you'll be okay, this survival guide will show you the Do's & Do Not's of what to do during detention.

DO

1) Listen to the instructor; you're already in trouble, don't be a dummy.

2) Get some homework done; be productive, you have time to do something, might as well be homework.

3) Be on your best behavior; you don't want to give the instructor another reason to see you again after school.

4) Self-Reflect; Although, you may have not done something wrong, think about what you did do and and to learn from that so you don't end up in detention again.

DO NOT

1) Eat; It Can be disruptive and 9/10 its not allowed during detention.

2) Listen to music loudly; This will surely get you another detention, just be smart!

3) Sit near a friend; sitting near someone you know will more than likely be a problem and get you both in more trouble. Be safe and isolate yourself.

4) Get on the teachers nerve; Don't be THAT person. Just get it over with.

5) Try to Ditch/Skip/Leave; This dumb trick only gets you in a lot more trouble. Just do the right thing, its easier than the consequences will be.

End Note: Don't be an idiot. Serve your time, then your out and its over with, try not to go back and if you do... Well, I'll pray for you. Just try to be the amazing person you truly on the inside... deep...deep...deep... I mean really deep down. JK. Thanks for the views y'all are perfect!

School Lunches

 School Lunches

School lunches can be a disaster, or a pretty good thing, depending on if you make your own lunch, or get a school lunch. Here is the guide to making the best out of school lunch.

Homemade Lunch

A homemade lunch can be really good or really bad. If you're making your own lunch, there are a few things that you should consider.

1) Does your school have any weird food rules? Like for example, if they don't want really junky foods, then you probably shouldn't pack it, unless you're sneaky! But make sure you don't in trouble... For food.
2) Do you like have any allergies? Well, make sure you pack foods that possibly WON'T kill you!
3) Does your food agrees with the weather? If its like 100 degrees its better not to pack milk, or cheese, unless you have an ice pack!
4) Will your food hurt you? By this , I mean things that will hurt your breath, or stomach! Like no onions, or things that will make your mouth smell bad, unless you have some mints!
5) Most important rule: Make sure you pack things that you actually like to eat, and that you won't just throw away. A lot of kids don't get to eat everyday, and its better that you don't throw good food away, just because you don't like it. If you don't like it, don't pack it!

School Lunch

A school lunch isn't always a bad thing! Its just what you make out of it, don't forces yourself, and just try to enjoy it!

1) Will it possibly hurt you? If the food doesn't look fully cooked, like I saw some hot dogs before that looked like death, then you should be safe and not eat it.
2) Do you like what they're serving? If you don't like something, then don't eat it, its better to eat what you like,t hen to eat something that can possibly make you puke.
3) Don't just settle for foolishness! You don't have to just eat the school lunch, you can always bring a snack to eat while you're there. Like some pop, juice, chips, candy, etc.
4) Most important rule: Make sure that you're respectful to the lunch ladies, although its their job to serve you, you want to get on their GOOD side, because you can't trust every adult, if you know what I mean!

Health

HEALTH

How to deal with this crap

So my school sent out this test or whatever for our "health"... and I thought it was really goofy, because it wasn't detailed, and it asked questions that were pretty much random.

Health is when your healthy mentally, physically, and emotionally, not just free from disease and illness.

So questions that ask how many times you wash your hands.. and pick up a pencil are vague and don't have much meaning. Who counts how many times you pick up your pencil..?!

I feel that it would be smart to describe what mental, physical, and emotional health are and the characteristics of them.. and basically how to stay that way!

Mental Health

Meaning: Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.

Characteristics: Characteristics for bad mental health is not just feeling "depressed" or "suicidal"... but just not being happy in general. Having one bad day doesn't make you have "bad" mental health, but continuously feeling sad, useless, unloved, etc, can lead to bad mental health. Thinking about death, killing, or dying, can also lead to bad mental health.

Constant Health: To keep good mental health you don't have to always be happy and bubbly, but just not sad, or constantly in a sad state of mind. If you're in bad mental health, the best thing you can do is try to do things that make YOU happy. Enjoy your life while you have it.

Physical Health

Meaning: This is not just how you look on the outside, example, pretty or distasteful. This is basically how healthy you are, for example just because you're skinny, doesn't mean you're healthy. Healthy in physical health means that you're working out, you're in good shape, and you'll have a longer chance of living.

Characteristics:  People who usually have good physical health work out and are pretty much happy people. When working out, it releases "happy chemicals" to you're body, and makes you feel pretty good. They are also not over weight, and they aren't too skinny.

Constant Health: To maintain good physical health, working out & eating right are crucial areas that you should work on. Looking up a recent BMI chart, can help you get on the right track, and see about where people your age & size are.

Emotional Health

Meaning: Emotional health is largely based on Genetics & environment. Having good emotional health means that you are in control of your feelings, thoughts, and behaviors. Having good emotional health means that you are in good control of yourself and it doesn't necessarily mean that you are in love with yourself, but you don't have to doubt yourself, and believe you're a terrible person.

Characteristics: People with good emotional health usually have good relationships, and they feel good about themselves. People with bad, or poor emotional health, tend to not really believe in themselves, they're often introverted and they dint often socialize.

Constant Health: To contain good emotional health, you need to do things that make you happy, not only that but you have to believe in yourself, and keep living life as best as you can!

Single Awareness Day (S.A.D)

Happy Single Awareness Day (S.A.D)

Happy Single Day, to those single people out there! A lot of people don't know what SAD is (Single Awareness Day) is, and i'm am here to give you all the info about it!

What is SAD:

Single Awareness Day (SAD) is on February 15th. Ha, isn't that funny. Its RIGHT after Valentines Day! Its the opposite of Valentines day, for people who are living the single life!

How To Celebrate:

On SAD you basically spoil yourself. You are your own Valentine, you do things you wanna do! You buy yourself chocolate, get your own teddy bear, go out to dinner by yourself.  A lot of people go to Brazil, because they celebrate Valentines day in June, so its like a getaway area, away from all the "lovey dovey" scenery.

Happy Hump Day!!

HAPPY HUMP DAY!

I never talk about hump day, so I decided to talk about it a bit! :D

Whats 'Hump Day'?

Hump day is basically just Wednesday!

Why is it called 'Hump Day'?

Its called Hump day because of LOGIC. There are commonly 5 days in a work week, and 5 is an ODD number. So Monday & Tuesday are the beginning of the week, while Thursday & Friday are the end, which makes Wednesday in the middle. A Camel has humps.... and because Wednesday is in the middle, its like in the "hump" of the days. So Boom!

Why is it so exciting?

Wednesday is in the middle of the common Western five-day workweek that starts on Monday and finishes on Friday. Its exciting because that means you are HALFWAY done with your week! Yay! :)

Personal Note: Happy Hump Day guys! We are almost finished with the week... and finals are almost over... and we don't have school Friday.. and 1st semester is over and all this good stuff! Woohoo! Bye bye! ~ Dio ♥

The School Play

The School Play

This is about the time of the month where school plays are coming together. I'll give you the tips!

Tips

Research your movie: For example, if you're doing " The wizard of Oz", you HAVE to watch the movie, and study the person you want to do.

Study your character:  If you want to be Dorthy, you have to practice the emotions she uses, the language she uses, and her tone of voice. You also have to practice how she reacts to situations.

Become your character: You have to become the character you want to be. You have to be another Dorthy. You have to walk like her, react like her, and you have to talk like her. Forget yourself, and become Dorthy.

Study your lines: You have to PRACTICE your lines. You can't get a role, then just forget the lines. Thats just shameful and shows lack of appreciation.

Record yourself: You have to record yourself and listen to it over and over. Just like when you remember a song, you listen to it over. Just think of your lines as a song.

Practice with others: You need to practice with other people and get the experience.

Critique & record yourself: Record yourself, and give yourself tips. Make your performance better.

What to expect

Pressure: You will have to go through a lot of pressure.
Stress: School & a play, that can be a lot of work.
Less Sleep: You have to practice, even if it means less sleep. :[
Fright: Everyone gets a bit scared at one point, even if its a bit of nervousness.
Congrats: When its all done and stuff, You will be happy you lived it through!

Personal

I might do our school play, Grease, because it seems like fun. I also like acting & theater. I just think you have to live it through. Keep going no matter what!!! :]   ~ Dio ♥

Seating Arrangements

Seating

Since the 2nd semester is coming in, new seating charts may be a problem... or possibly a celebration.

There are a lot of worries when it comes to seating charts. There are Pro's and Cons. SO of course, Ill break it down for ya.

Pros

Sitting by friends:

You might get that chance to sit by someone that you really like. You guys can have the time of your life. You guys could help each other while having a ton of fun.

A change in environment:

By just changing your seat, your grade can improve. If you were in the back, and you get to move closer to the front, which helps improve your grade. Also, if you were sitting next to someone that you don't like, or who you rather not be near, you get the chance to finally move!

Possibly new friends:

Not all the time would you get to sit your friends, but you might have to sit next to someone you don't usually talk to. That can be a great opportunity to meet some new people, and possibly make new friends. Making new friends can be a great experience for you.

Better seat:

I personally hate sitting in the back of classrooms, not only do I not get to be very engaged and I fall asleep and day dream, but I don't have the best eyes, and it could kill my grade. So I usually sit near the front. If you're in the back, or not too close to the front, you can email or tell your teacher to move you near the front because it will help improve your grades.

Cons

Well there are a few BAD things that happen when you get moved. Basically everything above reversed. So terrible seat, next to stupid people, far in the back, next to someone you rather not be near!
